In the organizational meeting of the ISBS held in December 2011, it was decided to institute the office of the Ombudsperson. Members of the Society will be free to submit complaints against any official of the Society or a decision of the Society to the Ombudsperson. The Ombudsperson will have the right to request officials to reply to queries; to inspect documents and accounts; and, to procure copies of documents and account detail. The ISBS secretariat or the local Chapter Secretariat will assist the Ombudsperson in completing such inquiry. In case of complaints against the General Secretary, Joint Secretary (Organizational Activities) will assist the Ombudsperson in carrying out the responsibilities.
