6th INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF BENGAL STUDIES

Papers are invited for the 6th International Congress of Bengal Studies, to be held on 25-28 November, 2020. The 6th Congress will be hosted by the Department of Modern Indian Languages & Literary Studies, University of Delhi.
Abstracts, in Bengali/ English/ Hindi, in all areas of Bengal Studies, including but not limited to, Aesthetics, Anthropology, Archaeology, Comparative Literature, Cultural Studies, Development Studies, Economics, Environmental Studies, Fine Arts, Folklore, Gender Studies, Geography, History, Linguistics, Literature and Criticism, Literary and Cultural Theory, Media Studies, Museology, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology are invited.
We also encourage submissions on the following special themes:
Reception of Bengal in other Indian Linguistic Cultures
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman: Contribution in the History and Culture of the Subcontinent
Kazi Najrul Islam: Reception in the Indian Subcontinent and Beyond
History of Bengali Literary Studies
The abstract submission portal will remain open from 15th May 2020 to 30th June 2020 on https://icbs.bangabidya.org/2020/. The abstract (500 words maximum) is expected to give information about the primary material of study/survey, the approach/methodology adopted, a brief note on works done by other scholars so far, and how the proposed paper adds to the existing knowledge.
Notification of acceptance will be communicated within two weeks of submission along with the information about registration fee, accommodation etc.
